The written report of the Clerk regarding matters arising and subsequent actions taken was noted. 111 REPORTS BY THE WARD MEMBER None Received 112 PLANNING MATTERS The Clerk commented upon her written report. RESOLVED : 2007/0577 - Land at former Tabernacle chapel. Objected due to - out of character with adjacent properties, inappropriate overbearing impact to surrounding area, considerably higher than residential surrounding properties. 2007/0631 - 3 Willowbank, Gowerton. No Objection 113 CHAIRMAN’S ANNOUNCEMENTS Cllr Sander advised council that he attended the Gowerton School senior award event and presented the Gowerton Community Council award for art to Adam Hopkins on 27th March. 114 REPORT OF THE CLERK (A) MISCELLANEOUS The Clerk further commented upon her report, previously circulated with the agenda. RESOLVED that: a) Progress on Elba Fencing. It was commented that although this is progressing well, some of the fencing has been stolen from the site and this is causing a delay, however the fencing is near to its completion. b) Change of external auditors. Noted. c) Proposal of changing banks for ease of access for banking facilities. Noted. d) Notification of precept payment dates. Noted e) National Welsh Assembly Elections - Thursday 3rd May. Noted f) Swansea in Bloom. Flower fountain locations - on green on crossing by Woodlands/Sterry Rd, by planters by Cecil /Sterry Rd roundabout and by new landscapes area of Pont y Cob. g) Resident complaint re: litter, Park Rd lane. Clerk to contact environment department. h) Local Government Policy Statement. Noted i) Commons Registration Act - Hearings of Commoners. Request made by Commission to contact all residents. Clerk to advise office that this is not within scope of Community Council work. j) Draft Countryside Access Plan 2007-2017. Comments required by 11th June 2007. Council advised it has always been policy not to give funding to individuals, only groups. Clerk to write and advise student but wish him every success. (C) CORRESPONDENCE The items of correspondence were noted and the Clerk informed Members of the 3 additional items received. 115 QUESTIONS RELATIVE TO COUNCIL BUSINESS Following question/issues raised by Members it was RESOLVED that: 1. Weather vein, gift from LaGacilly twinning. It would be nice to have this put up before visit in May. 2. Entry to Gowerton sign knocked down. County Council already aware of this and will be replacing. 3. St Johns church will be celebrating its 150th anniversary having a barbeque on 7th July, and a balloon race on 8th September. Council agreed they could use Marquee for events on these dates. Meeting closed at 8.30pm ………………………………… Chairman
