Minutes of the Annual Meeting of Council held on Wednesday 6th Dec 2006
PRESENT:  Cllrs Mike Sander, Barbara Small, Anita Bowen, Gareth Evans, Mike Egan, Linda Bolchover, Roz Holt, Peter Johns and Gareth Morgan.

70            COUNCIL MINUTES
To consider the minutes of the meeting held on 1st November 2006:
a)  the Minutes were accepted as a true record except Minute number 66 should be 65 (in numeric order) Minute 59 should state meetings with no one not none, and minute 62 last item should state diversion of footpath not division.
            b)  Matters Arising:
            The written report of the Clerk regarding matters arising and subsequent actions taken was noted.

72       PLANNING MATTERS

The Clerk commented upon her written report.  RESOLVED that:

2006/2500 - 18 Llys Baldwin, Gowerton.  No Objection

2006/2565 - 56 Cecil Rd, Gowerton - No Objection

2006/2601 - TPO - Rear of plot 16 Maes y Deri - No objection subject to specialist tree survey.

2006/2623 - Land adjacent  to no. 3 Gorwydd Cottages.  No Objection.

 

73      REPORT OF CHAIRMAN

Cllr Mike Sander reported the following:

Ø       Bottom of Bishwell Rd/Gorwydd Rd flooded, Drovers Point mud and rubbish is believed to have contributed to this.  Drains need to be cleared.

Ø        Recently attended the Lord Mayor of Swansea’s supper in the Mansion House, attended with the Clerk, enjoyed evening.

Ø       Has been in contact with resident who backs on to Drovers point.  They are currently fighting for access to rear of the gardens.  Currently HGV’s using area and churning up area.  This needs to be tarmacced, clerk to contact developers Bryant Homes and request these developers ‘make good this area.

Ø       Station Rd - a very wide track has been bulldozed from Drover’s Point to the bottom of station Rd, this should have been for a cycle path.  Clerk to clarify what this proposed access is for.

Ø       Concern given that after initial enthusiasm for attendance at Council meetings, once again there is no regular attendance.

Ø       Confirmed that Chair’s Charity for raffle profits are for Welsh Air Ambulance.

75      QUESTIONS RELATIVE TO COUNCIL BUSINESS
Following questions raised by Members it was RESOLVED that:
1.      Phonebox on Bishwell Rd once again has been broken.  Clerk to request that BT uses hardier materials when replacing.
2.      Comment has been made to a Councillor how clean Gowerton is looking.
3.      Talbot Street - change of direct.  To clarify Community Council did not push for this change.
