At a meeting of the Ilston Community Council held at Penmaen and Nicholaston Parish Hall on Wednesday, 26 October 2005

Prior to the commencement of the meeting, Mr. Don Brown and Mrs. S. Mobbs, both of Parkmill, raised the question again of parking difficulties at Parkmill and various documents were produced.� After lengthy discussion and to make progress with this matter, agreed a special sub-committee be called with arrangements being made with Mr. George Mobbs (tel. no. 01792 234415) after Councillor R. Hanson had checked with Mr. Hedley Jones, the Commons position, and Councillor V. Jones had checked who was the solicitor for the landowners in the area in question, and Councillor P. Burgess is available to attend such a meeting.

2.�������� Minutes.
The minutes for the meeting held on 28 September 2005 were read, confirmed and signed as a true record.

3.�������� Matters Arising.
On 3.3.7(a)�� Fly Tipping.� Noted matter ongoing with Councillor R. Hanson.
On 6.6(a)����� Newsletter and Broadband.� Noted that there were only 6 replies to the Newsletter out of 200 plus sent out.� Agreed that the question of a Newsletter could be looked at again in 2 to 3 years� time.
�������������������� Councillor Hanson then reported on the meeting in respect of Broadband held in Penmaen on 24 October 2005.� Over 40 people attended and there was considerable support for the initiative.� Four options were presented.� Following discussion and questions the meeting decided the way forward was to await the RIBS roll-out and to exert pressure where possible to ensure the Penmaen exchange was early in the project roll-out plan.� (Full report shown as �Appendix A� to the minutes).� Grateful thanks were expressed to Councillor Hanson for the amount of work he was doing in respect of Broadband.
On 3.9(b)����� Bryncoch Farm, Fairwood.� Noted letter awaited from Planning Services giving the full position.
On 3.7��������� Barham Centre, Parkmill.� Noted no reply as yet from the Charity Commissioners.� Further noted a meeting to be held at the chapel on 3 November 2005 and a request had been made by Rev. G. Fisher via Councillor T. Beynon that Community Councillors attend if possible.
On 8(c)�������� Letter 27/9/05 Mrs. M. Kingham, Lunnon, re hedgerows, etc.��� Noted letter dated 12 October from Martin Appleby, Planning Services, stating that matters at �Byways� will be dealt with by the Enforcement Section and as far as the hedgerow is concerned, Mr. Appleby is reasonably satisfied that Mr. Morgan has made some effort at long last.� Agreed Councillor V. Jones will keep a watching brief.
On 8(a)�������� Letter dated 22/8/05, Forestry Commission Wales, Parkwood and Millwood, Gower.�� Noted letter dated 3/10/05 from Forestry Commission who will write again once the Action Plan of potential projects and the Consultation Report have been completed.
On 9(a)�������� Speed of buses through Gower Villages.� Noted letters dated 5/10/05 and 6/10/05 from First Cymru and Pullman Coaches respectively and that their staff will have this matter drawn to their attention.
On 9(b)�������� Change of roof on garage.� Clerk reported that it depends if other extensions have been carried out and how much the volume will increase.

a)�������� Trekking sign,
double bend, Penmaen Hill.�� Noted sign had been moved from halfway
down the hill towards the double bend, to right onto the double bend (going
east) and is now in an extremely dangerous position.�� Agreed Clerk take up
this matter with the Traffic Section of the C & C of Swansea.
b)�������� Fireworks.��� Noted that from 5 November 2005 it is an offence to set off fireworks between 11.00 p.m. and 7.00 a.m.
c)�������� Date of next meeting.� Noted date of next meeting as Wednesday, 30 November 2005 at 7.00 p.m.
