Mrs. James gave a progress report on the meeting held on the 2nd June 2008, and that One Voice Wales were organising training packages for Members.

Green Path � concern expressed at the City and County of Swansea not cutting back the hedge far enough on Pennard Road.�� Also residents had placed stones on the verge to prevent car parking, resulting in grass cutting being restricted.

 

Insurance � confirm Minute 08/102 re Kittle Residents AssociationS137 Grant to be deferred pending review of Kittle Residents Association�s future requirements.

 

 

 

Car Parking � Linkside Drive/Pennard Drive � noted letter to the Chief Executive of the City and County of Swansea, but no reply received to date.Councillor Mrs. Smith outlined proposals under consideration for restricted parking for residents only.

        Minutes of the Field Committee of 31st May 2008, as circulated, were agreed.

        Agreed for the Carnival Committee for free use of the field and tables from the hall, for the period 18th � 20th July 2008, was agreed.

        The draft Contract letter to Mr. Suttie was deferred for further consideration.

        Letter from SMP Playgrounds about natural play noted.

        Councillor Mrs. Smith reported that the City and County of Swansea would be delivering gates to the field, which Pennard Community Council would then have to erect.

The Minutes of the Burial Ground Committee held on 22nd April 2008, were agreed.

 

 

 

Parish Hall/Church

 

 

 

Noted letters from St. Mary�s Church thanking Pennard Community Council for their S.137 Grant, and advising differences with their architect resolved, meaning that work to the Church can now proceed.

 

 

 

Footpaths Committee

 

 

 

        Minutes of the Footpaths Committee, held on 4th June 2008, were agreed.

        City and County of Swansea to be advised that the styles on Footpaths 42/43 near the Poultry Farm need repairing, and the fencing erected by the land owner along footpath 48 is encroaching on the path itself, and footpath 55 is badly overgrown.

Resurfacing Southgate Road

 

 

 

Concern expressed about the inconvenience to residents due to the resurfacing of Southgate Road, and whether better communication by the City and County of Swansea might have prevented any misunderstanding or difficulties arising.Agreed to write to C&C Swansea regarding concerns.Mr. King left the meeting.
