OUTSTANDING CONCERNS WITH THE CITY AND COUNTY OF SWANSEA

 

The Clerk had circulated 16 cases of outstanding correspondence with the City and County of Swansea.Two have now been resolved; one about the five yellow Police notices will be dealt with by Cllr. Smith and one the Clerk to pursue with the City and County of Swansea, Chief Executive, about Pennard Area Community Partnership.

PROPOSED NURSERY

 

The Clerk reported that Ms. M. had regretfully withdrawn her interest in setting up a nursery in the former surgery premises.

 

It was agreed that the Clerk write to the remaining three interested parties, asking if they were still interested in taking over the premises.If they were interested, replies with a Letter of Intent to be received by 21st September 2007.

 

If no response, agreed to place with two estate agents dealing with commercial premises.

 

Eleven tenders had been sent out for the work to the nursery and hall, with four replies.The lowest tender from P. J. Carpentry was noted but would possibly require amendment if the new tenant required a different layout.P J carpentry to be advised of the situation and to given the opportunity to tender again when a tenant had been found.

PUBLIC ENQUIRIES

 

The Chair proposed that members of the public be given the opportunity to ask questions in the 15 minutes prior to council meetings.Various suggestions were discussed as to how this would be best achieved.Agreed that there be an agenda item �Questions notified in advance by Members of the Public� and that the public would inform the Clerk or Chair before the start of the meeting.This was to be for a trial period of two months.

Play equipment safety surface-Dr. Waymark gave an explanation of the additional cost of safety surfacing carried out by DCM.

Litter bins � agreed to purchase a litter bin from Glasdons at a cost of �211.97.

Garage roof and two goal postsDr. Waymark reported repairs in hand.

Litter � comment made on the amount of litter left after the Carnival and the excellent job of cleaning up afterwards.

 

 

 

 

BURIAL GROUND

Dr. Cook reported that a site visit to be arranged as a follow-up to the request that plinths and plants be removed from the front of headstones.Further report to October meeting on action recommended.

Mr. King reported that renovation to the Parish Hall would commence in November.

 

 

 

FOOTPATHS

Mr. Lanfear reported that the boardwalk and bridge at the river leading to Three Cliffs Bay is in poor condition.Agreed to ask Spencers to cut the grass between the steps to the doctors and the end of Park Road.
