Emails from Kittle Residents Association, dated 15th January 2008 and 4th February 2008 to Margaret Smith re lay-bys at Kittle, noted.��� City and County of Swansea to publish details of the waiting time at Kittle shops this week, when comments will be invited.

 

 

08/22�� FENCING NEAR BARLAND QUARRY

The City and County of Swansea be asked, under the Freedom of Information Act, for their risk assessment valuation about the section of missing fence on Pennard Road near Barland Quarry.

The proposed contract with the new tenant not yet finalised.

Plenary powers given to the Chair, Vice-Chair and one other Member to sign the contract on behalf of the Council (subject to acceptance by the new tenant).

Part payment for work completed to date to former surgery was discussed.In favour of the interim payment were Nigel King, Margaret Waymark, Ralph Cook, Margaret Smith, Catherine Bryden-Smith.Against were Helen Langford, George Nash, Lin Silver, Wes Weeks, Adele Gerke.Abstained Lynda James, Andrew Thomas.On the casting vote of the Chairman, it was agreed that the interim payment be made.

Margaret Waymark gave a progress report on the skateboard ramp.It was agreed that:

a)         D. Watkins be asked to do any welding required

b)        Spencers provide and erect the netting between the ramp and the adjacent field

c)         that a new litter bin be purchased

d)        notices be ordered from Charterbrook regarding the need to use appropriate safety equipment when using the ramp

A vote of thanks was given to Margaret Waymark for the work she had carried out on this project.

Three letters from Mr. J. Eley received:

 

        thanking Council for free use of the Hall for a charity event which raised �1,033.00.Noted.

        asking for free use of the Hall on 14th January 2009 for a similar event.Agreed.

        asking if facilities in the kitchen could be upgraded to cater for large events.Refer to Hall Committee.

The Electoral Registration Officer requested use of the Hall for the May elections until 02.00am, rather than the usual 11.00pm, for purpose of the poll count.This was agreed at an extra cost of �10.50.

New access to the kitchen � it was agreed that the extension walls be of pebbledash as matching brickwork not available

Ralph Cook reported that Spencers had been requested to fill in sunken graves 337 and 341.

 

 

Parish Hall/Church

Nigel King gave a progress report on the refurbishment of the Parish Hall.

 

 

Footpaths

Footpath review to be completed by 1st April 2008.Forms to be returned to the Clerk who will report back to the April Council meeting.

Margaret Smith gave a progress report on upgrading footpath 21, which included a new kissing gate being installed.

George Nash reported on a meeting with the Police and on the Police budget for 2008/09.

George Nash gave a report on discussions held with the Police and the Golf Club about this problem.
