New Applications

Application 2007/0763  -  16 Southgate Road, Southgate

Single storey rear extension

No objection

Application 2007/0773  -  91 Southgate Road, Southgate

Addition of first floor living accommodation, side porch and single storey side/rear extension

Concern at overdevelopment of the site, leading to loss of light and privacy to adjacent properties.

Application 2007/0793  -  ‘Windy Hill’, Sandy Lane

Retention of detached outbuilding

Concern at actual size of outbuilding.  However, providing used solely as a workshop, not residential use, no objection

Application 2007/0544  -  2 Anderson Lane, Southgate

Amended plans

Increase in ridge height by 3.4 metres to provide first and second floor living accommodation with three front and one rear dormer and a front balcony and single storey rear/side extension incorporating integral garage

Reiterate previous objections about size and height, and visual impact.

Application 2007/0859  -  37 Foxhole Drive, Southgate

Two storey side extension incorporating attached garage and single storey rear extension

No objection

Application 2007/0906  -  8 Eastcliff, Southgate

Front conservatory

No objection

Application 2007/0921  -  54 Southgate Road, Southgate

Demolition of existing chalet and replacement two storey detached dwelling.

Concern that this proposal is for a very large building, resulting in overdevelopment of the site and which will completely dominate the two adjacent bungalows.  This will have a detrimental visual impact on the village scene situated on the main road through Southgate.

Concern also about the plan omitting to show the very large garage at the bottom of the garden.  The north-west elevation of the proposed plan shows a porch to be constructed, which appears to prevent vehicular access to the garage.

Decisions by the City and County of Swansea

·        ‘Tree Tops’, Sandy Lane  -  refused siting of a caravan

·        The Old Farmhouse, Kittle  -  refused detached building

·        Hunts Corner, High Pennard  -  refused extension

·        66 Southgate Road  -  approved replacement porch

Appeals

‘Shirecombe’  -  the City and County of Swansea had been advised by the owner of Shirecombe that the fence, which exceeded 2m in height, had been in existence over five/ten years.
Names and addresses of those with a different viewpoint given to the City and County of Swansea by the Clerk.

Meadgate  -  concern expressed that Park Road/Burrows Close  road may not be resurfaced prior to Meadgate leaving the site.  Mr. Gregory to keep  a watching brief.
