Matters ArisingCo-option Two applications for co-option had been received, from Dr. J. Stead and Ms. C. Bryden-Smith, both of Fairdene Cottage, Parkmill. Agreed that the two applications be considered at the Council meeting in July. Equal Opportunities Training Agreed a special meeting be convened later in the year to consider the need for a Business Plan, to be hosted by an independent person. Discussions arose over whether a decision could be made on
matters arising. Generally, this is
acceptable practice. In future, to
ensure no doubt about the legitimacy of a matter arising, each item will be
identified on the agenda. |

· Land off Burrows Close The Clerk submitted a summary report on the historical background of the 34 dwellings at Burrows Close. There appeared to be a difference of opinion as to the interpretation of the Planning Inspector’s decision of 1st November 2005 as to whether conditions 1– 3 and 6–9 remained in force. Agreed that Ms. Gerke and Mr. Weeks seek guidance from the Planning Department, before 29th June 2006. |

A query arose about the proposed development at Brandy Cove. As this is outside Pennard Community Council’s remit, no further action taken. |

Community Hall · Agreed to waive charge for Parents and Toddlers Group for Carnival preparation, First Responders training and Art and Craft Exhibition. · Dr. Waymark gave a progress report on pointing and external lighting due to be completed at the end of the month. · Dr. Waymark reported on the meeting with the School, Library and Surgery about long-term security at the complex. It was agreed that the School Caretaker lock the main gates at 10.00 pm and unlock them at 8.00 am, Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday and school holidays to be considered at a later date. · It was also agreed that the services of PSM Security be considered on an ad-hoc basis. · Agreed that Pennard Community Council erect a suitable sign at the school entrance stating that the complex is for legitimate users of the site only. Hall users to be advised about the gates being locked. · Dr. Waymark reported that discussions taking place with the local Health Board about advertising the surgery for a dental practice in due course. |
