JUNE 2009 The Minutes were approved, as amended, by Cllrs. Cook and Nash. The only alteration apart from one typographical error was the Hall Committee Minutes which approved renewal of the Cleaner’s Contract. |

Burial Ground CommitteeMinutes of the Burial Ground Committee of 21st June 2009 were accepted. Decisions agreed by Council: a) that grants of Right for graves be for a maximum of 75 years and that of ashes for 25 years b) that monumental masons inscribe on the back of each memorial stone the grave number c) that the gravedigger carries out a risk assessment and holds Public Liability Insurance. d) risk assessment to be carried out annually by the Clerk and Assistant Clerk and that this information be available to anyone working in the Burial Ground. e) further enquiries be made about storing records in the event of fire. f) the revised Rules and Regulations governing the Burial Ground were agreed subject to adding after paragraph 1.2 “i.e. moved to residential care within the last two years”. g)
enquiries to be made about graves being dug deep enough to
hold three bodies rather than two. |

Field CommitteeMinutes of the Field Committee held on 3rd July 2009 were accepted. Council Decisions: a) The quotation from the City and County of Swansea of £682.00 for verti draining and seeding was agreed b) Agreed the asbestos survey fee of £55.00 to F. Jones c) Agreed the cost of £200.00 from J.D. Morris for emergency roof repairs to the Pavilion d) Plenary powers given to the Field Committee to repair/renew play equipment. |

e) The future of the Pavilion needs to be discussed in detail. The Clerk recommended that professional assistance be sought in determining maintenance costs over the next five years and the cost of replacing the Pavilion. Once this information is known the Council to consider the various options prior to a public meeting being called to consider this issue. In the meantime, Cllr. Waymark has agreed to conduct research via the Internet. Cllr. Silver will be looking at the availability of grants and the Clerk to approach Mr. Mark Henwood with a request for a technical report on the future financial maintenance costs of the existing pavilion. f)
Agreed free use of the field for the City and County of
Swansea’s play scheme on 31st July 2009 and the 7th and
21st August 2009. Noted that the water meter is due to be renewed. |
