Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 9th August 2005

1.       Declaration of interests. 
2.       Minutes of the last meeting: Approved.
3.       Matters arising: Chevron at Margam Corner has been removed, to be replaced in two days.
4.       National Trust.  Coastguard lookout now in hands of NT.  Meeting 04/08/05, RD could not attend.  Minutes will be sent.  Paid volunteer to open and close lookout hut.  ST has spoken to some of the Coastguards and they are worried about how shiny and slippery the stones are on the way down to Fall Bay.  ST has slipped herself, as have other people.  Coastguards have had two casualties there over the last few months.  Write to NT?
5.       Footpaths.  Hooray!  The Footpath Map has been printed and distributed around Rhossili to be sold.   RB & RD to pursue SDF Grant – what is happening with this?  ST has visited most S/C & B&B in Rhossili, also Knelston Garage (not interested) and awaiting to hear from Scurlage Shop.  NT need to pay for advert.  ST issued cheque for £18.25 for 73 maps sold so far.  ST will also send map to Steve Parry and thank for his involvement.  Laminated adverts created to put in windows of retail outlets in Rhossili.  Mrs Smale (50), Worms Head Hotel (50) and R Button (100) have taken maps and need to be asked for payment.
6.       Village Hall and Car Park.  Letter and £2 cheque received for rental of car park land from the Swinertons.
7.       Newsletter. ST has sent RCC round up article to PV.  Already sent NT and Gower Bird Hospital items.  Photocopying charges to be paid.
8.       One Voice WalesConference and AGM 22/10/05 at Builth Wells.  £50 per delegate.  ST can’t attend because it is a Saturday.  No delegate.  Clerk’s wages and expenses – SW to investigate. 
National Agreement on Salaries & Conditions of Service.
9.       Mobile Library. PB mentioned that the mobile library may be withdrawn.  ST to write to SCC regarding this.  Need to know current thinking on the provision of a mobile library.
10.    Gower Community Councils Website.  Go-live has been delayed until October, due to Summer recess of most councils.
11.    Planning applications. Letter received from The Gower Society re. Talgarths Well, also copy of letter sent by Dormans to SCC.
Acknowledgement of letter re. land at Middleton Hall although work is continuing on wrongly positioned footings.  Letter acknowledging that revised plans for Sunnymead were not received and new set enclosed.`
2004/1489 Bungalow at Keenmoor Farm has been withdrawn.
2005/1026 Caravan rally
23-25th June 2006 Pitton Cross Caravan Park – APPROVED
2005/0687 Bellendaine Middleton recommended for refusal
2005/0757 Barn conversion at Ship Farm, Middleton – Amended plans – no objection
12.    Finance.  Appointment of Auditor passed to SW.
13.    Correspondence.    Action: Chris Holley wants to know of any outstanding requests made to SCC over past 12 months – Highways!!!!  Society of Local Council Clerks – asking of we want to join.  Also introducing a “Working with your Council” course pack. RCC decided not to join.
