Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 11th October 2005

1.       Declaration of interests:  None

2.       Minutes of the last meeting: Approved

3.       Matters arising: Letter from Richard Lewis re. mobile libraries.  He has no reason to believe that they will be withdrawn, but will follow up matter with cabinet member for education. 

4.       Election of new vice chair:  CB proposed SW, 2nd by RD.  Vote was unanimous.

5.       Footpaths:   Steve Parry wrote to say that work has been completed on B21 Keenmoor Lane other than a few landscaping jobs and that it will be cleared along with the FP37 down to Ramsgrove.
FP Maps: SW requested a spreadsheet of who the maps have been sold to for the accounts.  Received a cheque for £60 from Roger Button.  NT sent a form to RD to be completed before payment can be issued.  SW to create a pro-forma invoice for future RCC use and to contact those who have not yet paid.

6.       Highways:  New bench arrived next to bus stop in Rhossili and complaints received from Vicki James and Gordon Howe with regard to bench design and urbanisation of the surrounding area.  ST to write to SG (cc VJ & GH) and say that the design of the bench is not appropriate to a rural area and that we hope that when a more suitable alternative becomes available in the near future, that the current bench will be replaced.
7.       Website: www.gowercc.org.uk Site went live on 1st October.  Next meeting 17th October.  Feedback from residents said that it was progress.
8.       Newsletter: ST to speak to DL about Vile article, DT on Wednesday Club, PB to ask RS for Hall Committee, LB on Wells for next newsletter. SJ on NT, CB on farming.  All articles must be with PV by 05/11/05
9.       Planning applications: 2005/1955 Bellendaine, Middleton - Two storey and part single storey front extension with side balcony.  RCC agreed that the alterations from the previous plans were minor internal details.  ST to write to say that the new plans do not significantly alter from the previously submitted plans and we therefore rely upon our previous objections.  
2004/0498 Faircroft, Rhossili has been REFUSED
SW to check with SCC to verify whether or not buildings need planning permission to install new velux windows as it was noted that new velux windows have been installed at Rhosmor.
Note from GH to planners to say that work has started on the unapproved footings next to Middleton Hall.  RD to investigate, liase with ST to send letter.
10.    Finance:  RD handed accounts back to SW.

11.    Correspondence:  Letter from PA to Cllr Holley confirming receipt and action on our letter of outstanding issues with SCC.    John Davies request meeting with RCC to discuss Gower buses – next meeting.
