Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 15th March 2005

1.        Declaration of interests. none
2.       Minutes of the last meeting: Approved.
3.        National Trust.  It has been reported that the signs at the edge of the cliffs in Rhossili are too small or too close to the edge.  ST to email SJ.
4.        Footpaths.  FP 27 has now been opened.  Work to remove large fallen trees will be dealt with soon.  FP 30 can we be more specific? Keenmoor Lane has been identified as an important project & hope to improve drainage and carry out surfacing works in the next financial year.  Also northern section of FP 27 new stiles & bridges due to be erected this month.  ST to reply to thank.  RB reported that dog passes have now been installed between Pitton Cross and Ramsgrove.
FP leaflet.  2000 to be printed.  Retail 50p, wholesale 25p.  10 adverts.  RB to finalise.  Agreed to waiver advert fee for ST.
5.        Highways and flooding.  Signage in Scurlage advertising the buildings at the former Sea Beach in Horton are dangerous and maybe illegal.  ST to write to Penrice, PECC, highways and planning.  Western chevron at Margam Corner has been broken off – ST to ask Highways to reinstate.

6.        Village Hall and Car Park.  Rob Symberlist announced that the Objective One funding has now been approved.

7.        Clerk.  ST informed JF & JV date of APM.

8.        Meeting with Police.  ST contacted SCC for contact details of clerks of all community councils.  ST to chase.

9.        One Voice WalesMeetings on 9th March – nothing to report.

10.     Planning applications. Minutes of extra meeting 22/02/05 approved.
2004/1818 Agricultural Building Middleton Farm Rhossili has been APPROVED.
2004/0596 land adjacent to Carissima Rhossili has been APPROVED.
2005/0247 & 2005/0239 dealt with in extra meeting of
22/2/05.
Letter sent re: 2003/0293 Talgarths Well officer should have visited the site by now - awaiting a written response.  RD spoke to Rhodri Williams who confirmed he will suggest that planning is revoked.  Also re. footings on land next to Middleton Hall, will not take action unless building continues before planning application is dealt with.  RD to write asking for confirmation of this phone call in writing.
2005/0397 Field 0058 Rhossili application for a new agricultural building – no objections, suggest coloured green.

11.      Finance.  Dates for Precept Payments 2005/2006 – passed to SW.

12.     Gower Community Councils’ Website.  Letter from Pennard – meeting arranged 23rd March 7.30 p.m. in Pennard community hall. ST & SW to attend

m. Statutory Rights on consultation for community councils in
Wales – reply needed by 4th May – ST to do
n. Safer Swansea meeting 24th February.
o. SW attended meeting re. Dredging.  Plans to move off shore by 2015.  Nash Sands have decreased by 1m so far.
p. RB attended a meeting re. “Disability Access Statements”.  Said Village Hall should have one.  Need to ask VH for this.
